You might be here because…

You feel stuck, exhausted, frustrated, and confused by patterns you can’t seem to change. Or perhaps from the outside, life looks fine—but something feels not quite right. You long for a greater sense of purpose, more authentic connection with others, and to be seen, understood, and valued for who you are.

Maybe you know what stands between you and the life you want but feel uncertain about taking the first step. Or maybe you're not sure why anxiety and emotional overwhelm keep getting in the way. In a world that often asks us to disconnect from ourselves, it can be difficult to show up as intentionally and authentically as we’d like.

Counseling offers a space to slow down, make sense of your experience, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself within the context of your unique, complex life. The work isn't always easy, but it is incredibly worthwhile.

What kind of therapist am I?

What draws me most is sitting with people in the “messy middle”: that place where things aren’t neat or resolved, where courage and vulnerability are raw and real. Bearing witness to that part of someone’s self-excavation feels like sacred work to me, and it’s where I feel most alive as a counselor.

I operate with a psychodynamic lens. Put simply, this means I believe our earliest relationships have a profound impact on what we first learn to believe about ourselves and others. Over time, life gives us opportunities to reconsider that first education, along with a chance to really see and interact with our default ways of being in new and fulfilling ways.

How did I get here?

Before becoming a counselor, I spent more than fifteen years practicing law. I was trained to listen carefully, sit with complexity, notice what isn't being said, ask difficult questions, and resist easy answers.

Those skills turned out to be surprisingly useful in psychotherapy.

A mid-life career change wasn’t simple after investing almost two decades into becoming a lawyer. But my own self-excavation revealed that the things that drew me to the legal profession were part of a pattern I decided was no longer serving me—and I wanted to be part of the “magic” of that type of self-exploration for others.

What else is important to me?

In all things, I consider it essential to provide culturally-responsive and trauma-informed counseling that considers the macro and micro systems in which we live and breathe. I strive to create spaces where clients feel genuinely seen and heard.

Come as you are—I will meet you there.
